Windows Vista Performance and Reliability Updates 

These have been brewing for a couple of months. They're out today.

They contain a number of patches that improve fix Vista. You can get them here:

The updates should be available on the next patch Tuesday.

Connectivity still sucks in vista.. Even with those updates, I still have to perform ipconfig /release, /renew when coming back home and connecting a laptop. With cable that is.. I don't use wireless since there is that notorious problem with Vista "Local only" access.

These things are really frustrating.. hopefully SP1 will fix this, if not, I'm switching to Ubuntu for sure :) For now I just have it running in a VM to develop in Ruby.

David, what's the "notorious Vista Local only access"? And my DHCP enabled devices get their IPs automatically.
